Don’t Let Anyone Steal Your Dream
I’m always amazed that some people, and more than you might imagine will go to great lengths to intentionally convince others their big idea (their dream) they may be working on just won’t work. Their actions are based upon some deep jealousy or envy that they’re not involved or doing it themselves. Possibly, they may have had a similar idea but did nothing about it.
Instead of showing support with words of encouragement or helping to champion the idea on behalf of their friend or colleague or offering another set of eyes and ears should the need occur, they work extra hard to cast negativity. They often proactively launch a ‘doubt’ campaign of sorts — all the while coming across as a trusted friend or colleague. Make no mistake about it, it could be a family member, as well — blood relative or otherwise.
I wonder how many dreams have gone by the wayside as a result of these senseless actions. So, I highly recommend staying committed to your ideas. Believe in your own thought process and thoroughly evaluate opinions, suggestions and recommendations of others. Take all with a grain of salt. Of course, consider what you may, but always follow your gut instinct.
The moral of the story… Follow your vision and fuel your passion with relentless commitment and conviction because that’s what it will take to turn your idea into a successful endeavor. Remember, don’t let anyone take away your dream, because they will in a heartbeat if you let the. And always keep in mind, the path to turning ideas to reality, entrepreneurship, if you will, is often a lonely journey.
